Irina spared no details when planning her 50th birthday party. The medieval theme and attention to detail fit her to a T. The Kettle Steam Team was hired to manage all the details on her special day to make sure that all her planning and efforts were executed for a memorable and fun event for all that attended.
I have been to many theme parties where the guests halfheartedly show up in theme attire, but at Irina's party I was thrilled to see that most everyone arrived in costume. Those that didn't, were treated to a basket of helmets, shields, swords, headpieces and other accessories, to transform into the era. Gold and silver tatoos were applied by the Kettle Steam crew, to add to the fun.
Kings and Queens, Nobles and Knights, Peasants, Bar Maids, and Maidens enjoyed drinking the signature cocktail called the Dragon's Kiss, played archery, competed on trivia games, and nibbled on meats, cheeses, and olives. All this, while a magician worked his way through the crowd dazzling guests with card tricks and other mind blowing magicry.
The buffet style dinner prepared by Bird House Grill, Deana Gunn, and Matt Rachow included skewers of chicken and rice, yogurt dip, salmon, and a variety of green salads. Flower arrangements from Francos Flowers added to the dramatic drink table. Cake and cupcakes from Stater Bros were decorated with dragons and fleur de lis. Continuing with the theme, fleur de lis shaped candies were given as party favors and a fleur de lis shaped wood board was used as the guest "book."
